The ESET Women in Cybersecurity Scholarship celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2025, continuing its mission to empower women pursuing degrees in cybersecurity and related STEM disciplines. This year, the program broadens its scope with increased awards, refined evaluation criteria, and a focus on recognizing both exceptional technical excellence and emerging potential.

Eligibility
Applicants must be pursuing a degree directly related to cybersecurity or a closely related STEM field, with a demonstrated emphasis on cybersecurity topics.

Scholarship Structure

  • Cybersecurity Trailblazer Award:
    • United States: Three $10,000 scholarships will be awarded to U.S. applicants who demonstrate exceptional technical accomplishments and a strong focus on cybersecurity, including a new award dedicated to a San Diego recipient to honor the program’s origins.
    • Canada: Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to applicants with outstanding technical achievements and a strong focus on cybersecurity. 
       
  • Future Leader Award:
    • Canada ONLY (New): Five $1,000 scholarships will be granted to promising Canadian applicants who show great potential in cybersecurity but may not yet have extensive accolades or achievements. 

This program reflects ESET’s commitment to closing the gender gap in cybersecurity, supporting both established talent and the next generation of leaders in the field. To begin the application process, applicants must create an account or log in to Reviewr. While we cannot control the platform’s language settings, we welcome submissions in English, French, and Spanish.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Gender Identity: Open to those who identify as women. 
  • Residency: Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or Canada. 
  • Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in or accepted into an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or vocational program in North America. 
  • Field of Study: Must be pursuing a degree directly related to cybersecurity or a closely related STEM field with a demonstrated emphasis on cybersecurity topics. 
  • Academic Status: Open to full-time and part-time students, as well as non-traditional students re-entering education. 

To complete your application, we will need: 

  • Your [unofficial] transcript. 
  • A letter of recommendation. 
  • volunteer/community work
  • A personal essay (500-700 words) outlining your achievements, potential, or passion for cybersecurity. 

The deadline to apply is April 8, 2025. Winners will be notified by the end of June.
