How It Works
Prepare your application.
Read the Essay Application Guide. Think about your idea and draft your four short answers. Aim for 150–200 words for each response.
Apply online.
When applications open, create your account and type your answers into the online form.
Submit by the deadline.
Submit your essay application online by February 2, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time.
Advance through live competitions.
Top-scoring essay finalists may be invited to compete in Regional Bees and State Finals. State winners advance to the National Championship.
