The Draper Competition for Collegiate Women Entrepreneurs is an on-ramp for undergraduate women seeking access to entrepreneurship opportunities, capital and networks. Since 2013, the competition has developed nearly 500
startup founders as innovators and entrepreneurs. The Draper Competition is the only event of its type that
focuses exclusively on developing the talent of collegiate female founders. After three years of virtual competitions, the competition is returning to its in-person glory in April 2023. Apply now to compete for your chance to win a share of over $100,000 in non-dilutive cash and prizes!

HOW TO ENTER
Team Leaders complete an online application consisting of a brief survey about the venture and leadership team, and upload a three-page executive summary (see template) in PDF format.
Applications must be completed and submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023
Note:
The designated Team Leader will serve as the point of contact for the venture.
Team Leaders may submit an application for only one (1) venture.
Eligible Team Members may only participate on one (1) team.
There is no limit on the number of applications per school; there is no quota of teams per school.
There are no fees to apply or to compete.
Faculty advisors may be contacted to verify the eligibility of a team or status of team members.

ELIGIBILITY
A startup/venture/team must meet all the eligibility requirements to be eligible to compete. Please make sure that you meet the following criteria before applying:
Venture
The competition is for new, independent ventures in the seed, start-up, or early growth stages.
An existing business is eligible only if it has received less than $25,000 in funding as of 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2022.
An existing business is eligible only if it has earned less than $100,000 in gross revenue as of 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2022.
Ventures need to have a revenue-generating business model. 501(c)s are not eligible for participation.

Team Leaders
Any woman-identifying student currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a not-for-profit, two- or four-year college or university in the United States is an eligible TEAM LEADER
Any woman-identifying recent graduate (between September 2022-January 2023) from a not-for-profit, two- or four-year college or university in the United States who is NOT currently enrolled in a graduate program is an eligible TEAM LEADER.

Team Members
Any student currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a not-for-profit, two- or four-year college or university in the United States is an eligible TEAM MEMBER.
Any recent graduate (between September 2022-January 2023) from a not-for-profit, two- or four-year college or university in the United States who is NOT currently enrolled in a graduate program is an eligible TEAM MEMBER.
Team Composition
All teams must have a Team Leader (see above definition) who has played a significant role in the development of the venture.
Solopreneurs are considered a team for purposes of the competition as long as the solopreneur meets the qualification to serve as the Team Leader (see above definition).
Up to five (5) eligible students may comprise a team.
Teams may have eligible students from different schools.

Faculty Advisor
Each team must provide the name and contact information for a faculty or staff advisor.
Faculty or staff advisors may be contacted to verify the eligibility of the team members.

Not eligible
Anyone who graduated before September 1, 2022.
Anyone currently enrolled in a graduate program.
Anyone currently enrolled at a for-profit institution.
Anyone who is a full- or part-time faculty member or employee of a college or university.
Any venture that has previously received $5,000 or more in prize money at the Draper Competition (this does not apply to the value of in-kind prizes received).

DISCLAIMERS
Applications submitted to the Competition are considered PUBLIC. The documents may be shared with Judges, advisors, future students, used for marketing purposes, etc. Participating teams should therefore ensure that their documentation does not contain secret or proprietary information.
Smith College and the Draper Competition Planning Committee assume no responsibility to ensure the confidentiality of any information disclosed by teams before, during, or after the competition.

Participants agree to be photographed and recorded and allow Smith College free use of these images in perpetuity.
AlI decisions regarding the competition rules, procedures, and processes are at the sole discretion of the Draper Competition Planning Committee.
The selection of the teams advancing through the competition and the selection of the prize winners are at the sole discretion of the Selection Committee, Track and Final Round judges.

DISQUALIFICATION
Any team deemed to be using an undergraduate student primarily as a means to participate in the competition will be disqualified.
Any team deemed to be using a woman-identifying student primarily as a means to participate in the competition will be disqualified.
Any team who intentionally initiates contact with any judge outside of Competition sanctioned events will be disqualified.
The Draper Competition Planning Committee reserves the right to disqualify any applicant or team at any time that violates the letter or spirit of the Competition.
