The More Perfect Union Fellowship is for veteran and service-minded leaders dedicated to strengthening our communities and healing our country. MPU is developing the next generation of community leaders committed to building bonds and bridges in their communities, across varying political, economic and social divides. This values-based leadership development program strengthens the capacity of 20-30 leaders to serve as MPU Brickyard Chapter Leaders.  The 2023 MPU Fellowship will be held at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana from June 22, 2023 to June 25, 2023. 

Fellows are nominated by More Perfect Union partners or may apply individually.  Individuals nominated/applying as candidates for the Fellowship should be:

  • Military Veterans or service minded professionals who have a minimum of five years of service;

  • Whose leadership has achieved positive, tangible outcomes in military service, nonprofit or social enterprise spheres;

  • At a crossroads in their lives—i.e. having already achieved professional success, they are ready to renew their commitment to serving the public good and healing American democracy by serving their communities;

  • Possessing of a breadth of experience and level of maturity that will enable them to contribute effectively to the fellowship experience;

  • In agreement with the MPU Community Agreement;

  • Live in the 50 United States of America;

  • Be 25 years of age or older;

  • from diverse backgrounds in terms of ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, and geography.

  • Former MPU Fellows are not permitted to apply again.
