BioProf. Ran Balicer, MD, Ph.D., MPH, serves as Chief Innovation Officer for Clalit, Israel's largest healthcare organization that covers over half of Israel’s population. He also serves as Founding Director of the Clalit Research Institute, a WHO Collaborating Center. In these roles, he is responsible for planning and large-scale implementation of novel AI and data-driven interventions for improving healthcare quality, reducing disparities, and increasing care effectiveness. He serves as Chair of the Israeli Society for Quality in Healthcare since 2013 and as senior advisor to WHO. Prof Balicer is a Full Professor at the Ben-Gurion University School of Public Health, Israel, and authored over 200 scientific publications. Since 2020, Prof. Balicer serves as Chairman of Israel's National Experts Team on COVID-19 Response, advising the Israeli Government. He leads international scientific research groups on COVID-19 risk stratification, vaccine effectiveness, and vaccine safety.
