You chose to provide a short written description (up to 300 words) explaining how your organization makes an impact in the community.The Peoria Police Citizens’ Academy Alumni (PPCAA) is dedicated to strengthening the partnership between the Peoria Police Department and the Peoria community by providing resources, support, and opportunities that enhance public safety and community well-being. We believe that strong, positive relationships between residents and the police department contribute to safer neighborhoods and a higher quality of life for everyone.
By enhancing the positive relationship between the Department and the Community, we enhance the Department’s ability to recruit and retain high-quality officers, thus enhancing Peoria’s quality of life. This enables Peoria businesses to recruit and retain high-quality employees since we all want to work/live in a safe community.
The PPCAA donated over $14,000 to the Department in 2025. Those funds enhanced officer safety, mission capabilities, and morale. Other support examples include purchasing a police dog, drone, and electronic bikes. We also donated items that boosted morale (food, water, gift cards/baskets). Through fundraising, community engagement, and strategic partnerships, we help provide equipment, training, wellness initiatives, youth outreach programs, and other resources that may not be fully funded through traditional budgets. These investments enable officers to better serve the community while fostering meaningful connections with the people they protect.
We are committed to promoting transparency, collaboration, and mutual respect by creating opportunities for community members and law enforcement to engage in constructive dialogue and shared service. Our programs encourage volunteerism, civic participation, and partnerships with local businesses, the Peoria Chamber of Commerce, and community organizations.
The impact of our work extends beyond financial support. By bringing people together around a shared commitment to public safety, we help build stronger relationships, increase community engagement, and support initiatives that make our neighborhoods more resilient and connected. Together, we are investing in a safer, more informed, and more united community for current and future generations.
