You chose to provide a short written description (up to 300 words) explaining how your organization makes an impact in the community.PRISM is a grass roots organization and was formed because we believe musical education is important for children. We recognize that not all families are able to purchase the musical instruments their children wish to learn, so our mission is to get kids the instruments they need for an improved education and a brighter future that a musical education can provide. We seek donations from the public of band and orchestra instruments (used and new), cash and other resources. PRISM sponsors instrument drives for this purpose. Donated instruments are refurbished (if possible) and new instruments are purchased, then they are gifted to Title 1 schools and other charitable and/or musical programs for children’s use. PRISM is based in Arizona and supports Arizona schools and charities, primarily in the Phoenix metropolitan area and on the Navajo reservation.
