By providing emergency food boxes, ready-to-eat meals, and vital hygiene and baby care supplies, Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank combats hunger and malnutrition and uplifts the overall physical and emotional well-being of Southwest Valley residents. All AFFCB services and programs are available at no cost and without eligibility restrictions that would discourage individuals or families from accessing support. Programs include:
* Emergency Food Assistance Program: A monthly emergency food box available at AFFCB’s location and at mobile weekend pantries.
* Daily Lunches: Sack lunches for individuals who self-designate as homeless or unable to store or cook food.
* Daily Showers: Showers and shower kits for individuals without shower facilities.
* Clothing Bank: Gently used clothing available once a month for individuals and families experiencing hardship.
* Baby Care Program: Supplemental formula, food, and diapers for 25 babies (birth-12 months) each month.
* Backpacks and More: Annual distribution of uniforms and school supplies to support students.
* Holiday Programs: Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes for approved applicants; Christmas gifts for children as available.
Last year, through these programs, AFFCB served 109,403 Southwest Valley residents from 20,290 households, including 31,193 children and 11,861 seniors, distributing 324,915 meals, in 12,473 emergency food boxes, 2,786 mobile food boxes, and 13,725 daily lunches. AFFCB distributed backpacks and school uniforms to 964 children, Thanksgiving and Christmas meals (holiday food boxes) to 1,502 families, and Christmas toys to 2,794 children. All thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers, who gave 10,925 total hours, valued at $380,080.75.
