You chose to provide a short written description (up to 300 words) explaining how your organization makes an impact in the community.Firefighters spend their careers serving people they have never met, responding to fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and community crises across the state. That service carries consequences that often continue long after the call ends, including occupational cancer, workplace injury, behavioral health challenges, addiction, and line-of-duty death.
The Arizona Firefighters Foundation (AZFF) exists to honor and support the Arizona firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics, as well as their families, by providing compassionate, timely assistance in moments of critical need. AZFF’s goal is to ensure firefighters and families do not have to face these hidden battles alone. The Foundation works behind the scenes to remove barriers to care, reduce administrative and financial stress, protect members’ anonymity and dignity, and connect them to critical support when it is needed most.
AZFF’s current programs include workers’ compensation navigation, cancer claim assistance, connection to behavioral health and substance abuse treatment resources, family support after service-related death, and firefighter education. When firefighters are healthy, the community receives the services it deserves.
