Founded in 2023, our mission is simple but powerful: ensure every child feels seen, heard, and valued and has the resources they need to thrive. We operate four core programs addressing the most pressing needs of underserved families in our community. Through our food distribution program, we provide groceries and food supplies directly to families facing food insecurity, delivering over $38,000 in food resources annually to households across Maricopa County. Our literacy and education program has placed more than 42,000 books into the hands of children in low-income households, helping families build home libraries and foster a love of reading with a 75% reading improvement rate among participating children. Through our clothing drives and distribution events, we have provided over $65,000 in clothing and personal care items to children and families who need them most. We also coordinate free health screenings and emergency wellness kits, ensuring families without insurance have access to basic health resources and support. Every dollar Make Kids Matter receives goes directly into the hands of families who need it most. We partner with schools, churches, and community organizations across the West Valley to reach the most vulnerable children many living in households where basic necessities are not guaranteed. Since our founding, we have served over 500 individuals annually, with plans to expand our reach across additional Arizona communities. An Arizona Financial Foundation grant would allow us to deepen our food distribution efforts, expand our book program to additional Title I schools, and bring health screenings to more families in need. Together, we can make sure every Arizona kid matters.
