That means more than passing classes. It means showing up to school fed, safe, supported, and ready to learn. It means feeling connected to trusted adults, keeping up academically, building healthy relationships, using technology with confidence, and seeing a future after graduation.
That is a lot to ask of any school. Maybe more than schools can do alone. But not more than we can do together.
The challenge is not getting people to care more. It is turning good intentions into support that reaches students where they are.
School Connect convenes school leaders, families, businesses, faith communities, nonprofits, and volunteers to identify local priorities and decide how the community can respond, creating lasting partnerships centered on students and shaped by each school community. Founded in Arizona in 2014, School Connect was created in response to a consistent challenge school leaders shared: communities wanted to help, but support was often scattered, short-term, or disconnected from campus priorities.
School Connect turns that interest into action. Last year, School Connect partnered with 776 schools across 67 districts, engaged 1,150 community partners and 4,000 volunteers, and impacted 117,824 students statewide through its programs. Community and Family Engagement (CAFE) roundtables bring school leaders and community partners together to identify needs, document commitments, and create a partnership action plan. Love Our Schools Day (LOSD) mobilizes volunteers for school-identified service projects that improve campuses and strengthen relationships. STEM Game Day Field Trips connect students to hands-on career environments in partnership with ASU, UofA, and NAU, helping students see postsecondary and career pathways more clearly.
