You chose to provide a short written description (up to 300 words) explaining how your organization makes an impact in the community.Arizona Veteran K9 Services impacts the community by serving veterans and individuals living with PTSD through medically trained service dogs and essential support services that promote stability, safety, and independence. Our service dogs are trained to assist with PTSD-related needs, helping reduce anxiety, interrupt crisis behaviors, provide grounding during stressful moments, and support clients as they reengage with family, work, appointments, and community life. These dogs do more than provide companionship—they become working partners that help restore confidence and improve quality of life.
We also recognize that healing is difficult when basic needs are unmet. Arizona Veteran K9 Services supports vulnerable community members through food distribution, clothing assistance, and temporary housing resources. By helping meet immediate needs, we reduce stress on families, connect people to resources, and create a stronger foundation for long-term recovery.
Our work strengthens Arizona communities by supporting those who have served, reducing isolation, and helping individuals move from crisis toward independence. Funding from Arizona Financial Grants would help us expand access to trained PTSD service dogs and continue providing practical assistance to those facing hardship. With this support, we can reach more people, improve daily lives, and build a safer, more compassionate community for veterans and families in need.
