By removing financial and transportation barriers, we connect Arizona's students with theater, dance, music, museums, and immersive arts education that inspires creativity, curiosity, and lifelong learning.
Each year, thousands of students from Title I, rural, and underserved schools experience the arts through Act One's in-person field trips, Culture Pass program, and nationally recognized VR Arts Immersion™ field trips.
A growing body of research shows that arts education improves academic achievement, critical thinking, creativity, communication, empathy, and school engagement. Students with meaningful access to the arts are more likely to develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed both in school and in life. Act One exists to ensure those opportunities are available to every child, not just those with financial means.
Research conducted in partnership with Arizona universities has demonstrated that our programs increase student engagement, learning, and interest in the arts. Most importantly, we hear directly from teachers and students who tell us these experiences help young people see themselves, their communities, and their futures in new ways.
At Act One, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience the transformative power of the arts because access to the arts is not an enrichment. It is an essential part of a well-rounded education.
