You chose to provide a short written description (up to 300 words) explaining how your organization makes an impact in the community. One Love Arizona is dedicated to creating lasting change for both pets and the people who love them through three interconnected pillars: Community Spay & Neuter, Shelter Dog Support, and our Paws for Redemption Prison Dog Program.
Our **Community Spay & Neuter Program** focuses on reducing pet overpopulation by providing affordable and accessible surgeries, with an emphasis on large-breed dogs in underserved communities. By removing financial barriers to care, we help families keep their pets healthy while preventing unwanted litters that contribute to shelter overcrowding. Every surgery creates a ripple effect, reducing future intake at local shelters and easing the burden on already strained animal welfare resources.
Our **Shelter Dog Support Project** partners with municipal shelters to improve outcomes for dogs who need extra time, medical care, training, enrichment, and exposure. Through marketing, behavior support, volunteer engagement, and collaborative partnerships, we help dogs become adoption-ready and increase their chances of finding loving homes. This work also allows shelters to create lifesaving space for other animals entering their care.
Our **Paws for Redemption Prison Dog Program** transforms lives on both ends of the leash. Shelter dogs receive daily training, socialization, and individualized care from incarcerated handlers, helping them become more adoptable while giving participants valuable job skills, responsibility, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose. The program demonstrates the powerful connection between animal welfare and human rehabilitation, creating positive outcomes on both ends of the leash.
Together, these three pillars address the animal welfare crisis from multiple angles—prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation. Through collaboration with shelters, veterinary partners, correctional facilities, and the community, One Love Arizona is building sustainable solutions that keep pets with families, increase lifesaving capacity, and create stronger, more compassionate communities across Arizona.
