Why you feel this person deserves this award.I feel I deserve the Humanitarian of the Year Award because service is not simply something I do—it is part of how I choose to use my platform as a REALTOR® and community leader.
For four years, I have remained actively involved with RWorld’s Community Outreach Committee. This past year, through the International Youth Institute USA, I helped lead a FIFA World Cup-focused youth forum using sports to educate and empower young people. This work received proclamations from both the City of Miramar and the City of Miami.
Through the United Nations Association Broward County Chapter, I continue to promote the Sustainable Development Goals locally and internationally. My commitment to global leadership, community service, and economic empowerment was also recognized at an international leadership summit held at the University of Oxford, UK.
Advocacy is equally important to me. I have voluntarily traveled to Tallahassee to advocate for homeowners and, this summer, traveled at my own expense to Washington, D.C. to join my REALTOR® colleagues on Capitol Hill. I brought my 17-year-old daughter so she could learn that her voice matters too.
Whether serving in Broward, empowering youth, advocating for homeowners, or representing our community internationally, I believe humanitarianism means "showing up, using your voice, and creating opportunities for others." That is the commitment I strive to live every day.
