Why you feel this person deserves this award.I nominate Christy Romano of AApex Electric, Inc. for Humanitarian of the Year. Christy’s service is not defined by one organization, event, or contribution. It is reflected in the way she recognizes a need, brings people together, and transforms compassion into action. Through her support of Project LIFT, Blue Collar Big Dollar, and the Treasure Coast Builders Association, Christy helps young adults overcome serious challenges and build better futures. These programs help young people complete their education, move away from drugs and difficult circumstances, develop practical skills, and establish meaningful careers in construction. Christy does more than provide financial support—she participates personally, mentors young adults, assists with employment applications, connects them with employers, and encourages them to believe in their potential. Her humanitarian work extends far beyond workforce development. Christy supports veterans, families facing housing challenges, Habitat for Humanity, and people affected by natural disasters. When help is needed, she does not wait for someone else to lead. She organizes volunteers, assembles work crews, connects community partners, and brings REALTORS®, affiliates, businesses, and neighbors together to help. Christy is also an extraordinary supporter of our Association. She is consistently present, keeping members informed, offering assistance, and stepping in whenever there is a need. Many times, she has used her own money and resources to ensure that events, classes, and important programs could take place. She does not ask whether something is her responsibility; she asks what must be done and how she can help. Her RPAC contributions further demonstrate her understanding that advocacy is another essential way to protect our profession, homeowners, businesses, and communities.
