Isoko
Investor Challenge
Submission AbstractIsoko buys coffee cherries and prepares them for export. Our washing/milling station adds the processing component to the mission of vertical integration that starts with Kwizera Farms (same ownership as Isoko). Local subsistence growers and Kwizera Farms harvesters are eligible to sell to Isoko.
Value Proposition Isoko pays Rwandan farmers fairly for their coffee cherries and creates jobs for station workers. Using a transparent process, supported by blockchain technology, Isoko ensures ethical practices from tree to latte. Isoko is also pioneering yield research that can benefit farmers across the country.
How we plan to make moneyIsoko sells the processed green coffee beans to retailers and roasters in the U.S. (including Kwizera Coffee). Isoko’s quality infrastructure can provide single source coffee to allow the beans to be sold at a premium. Our reliable and consistent transparency will ensure high customer retention.
Launch StrategyIsoko is in the early launch stage. Establishing Isoko is the next step in the vertical integration process to connect existing Rwandan farm operations with the U.S. retail market. Isoko’s immediate plans include purchasing land, submitting plans to the Rwanda government, and pitching to investors.
