Project Intent StatementThe Client’s Erie Family Service Center is a newly renovated building nestled within the existing urban core of downtown Erie, Pennsylvania. The building engages with the existing community through the integration of a new accessible entry addition that enhances the street and pedestrian edge with a street level lobby and a sustainable landscape design that manages the site’s stormwater and adds 4-season texture and color to the sidewalk experience. Projecting bay windows allow the building’s users a place to pause, absorbing daylight and views of the neighborhood while a lake inspired palette infuses the interior public spaces utilized for gathering, training and community services.
