Submission #6657933
Project Information
Submission NameBrewer's Block
Project Intent StatementBrewers Block is a transformative development located at the crossroads of three distinct Pittsburgh neighborhoods: The Strip District, Lawrenceville, and Polish Hill. This unique positioning allowed the design team to draw inspiration from the surrounding areas, resulting in a vibrant and engaging master plan. A key element of the design is the revitalization of Sassafras Way, which serves as the project’s "backbone" and connects all buildings and amenities. This integration fosters an urban atmosphere at the site’s center while ensuring ample open space and safe pedestrian pathways to the three buildings. The focus on pedestrian circulation and the inclusion of diverse tenant amenities tailored to each building enhance the community feel. Ultimately, the design promotes a sense of belonging and provides residents with a modern urban living experience that harmonizes with the surrounding context.
