Project Intent StatementThe Busan Esports Arena (BRENA) was designed to create a versatile, technologically advanced venue within an existing structure in downtown Busan, Korea. The primary goal was to develop a facility capable of hosting various esports events while offering flexibility for non-gaming functions. The design prioritized adaptive reuse, integrating new systems with existing infrastructure to minimize environmental impact. Key design elements include a reconfigurable 292-seat arena, broadcast-ready facilities, and dedicated player spaces to support competitive events. The layout incorporates a public gaming area to engage the local community year-round. Premium viewing areas, including a social club and VIP suite, were designed to enhance spectator experiences. The project aimed to create a landmark venue that could evolve with the rapidly changing esports industry while serving as a multifunctional community asset.
