NameStacy Somers
Category of nomination Humanitarian of the Year
Why you feel this person deserves this award.Stacy is the epitome of what a good person should act like or be. From volunteering with our association; serving on several committees since 2019. Its not just that though, she takes the time to help newer Rworld members, she's been known to invite a group for coffee & just answer their questions. She fights for Rworld members ie. to get a marketing madness in the western community where there is no Rworld office, and volunteered to moderate (and help to make whole MM program grow with ideas & action items). Stacy volunteers at local schools (brings supplies thru the year), she organizes a backpack drive & thanksgiving dinners for a public school in need in WPB for years. Like most things she does, not many people know, because she does it to create smiles on people's faces. She has her hands in different places ie. May 2020 she organized an event, she collected over $5k from agents & people she knows, she than went shopping herself, & then with the one church open in the county, she organized a drive through food & toilet paper pick up (homeless & those in need walked, rode their bike & drove thru the line). She has a soft spot for those who are homeless, elderly in homes (who don't have family visiting) and children & woman abused; because of this, Stacy gives care bags to anyone homeless she sees & donates food to several shelters in PB county & the Orlando area. She visits nursing homes & does puzzles, plays games with elderly. She's done everything from donate money, clothing/food and even stood on a grand stage, as the headline speaker at UCF to speak against child abuse. Many years ago, she created a PTA if you will, in the city of Wellington, called CVO. By unanimous vote of the city Council, the city partnered with CVO & together they helped people throughout the community for years (helped people avoid code violations by getting their driveway, sidewalk & roofs cleaned or give rides to elderly etc). Stacy is a true Humanitarian & hopes to inspire others.
