Idea SummaryHarmony Turbines is developing next generation residential and small scale VAWT (Vertical Axis Wind Turbine) systems for a better tomorrow! Harmony has the ability to produce more power over a larger range of both low and high winds than wind turbines currently on the market. Furthermore, our patented furling or closing technology will allow us to continue producing full power right on through high wind events that disable or even destroy competing small scale units. Our initial turbines will be rated at 400w in a 25mph wind, with a target cost of about $2,500 each. The ROI for these units should be about five to seven years if the homeowner has strong winds in their area and average electric prices of about $0.15 per KwH. Our products are designed around four key points: convenience, ease of use, features, and cost. Because of these four key design points, we firmly believe that Harmony Turbines will become the next global standard in residential and small-scale wind power generation. Our units are beautiful, silent in operation, and they pose no danger to people or wildlife. If we were to win one of the top AIC prizes, we would put this money toward the further development and commercialization of our flagship 400w turbine product. We are doing our best to raise the necessary funds to help fast-track our idea and move from development into low volume beta production. We have hundreds of customers patiently waiting for our product to hit the market, so it's just a matter of getting the necessary funding and exposure to help push this development forward and move it to the next stage. Competitions like AIC help us to increase our exposure around the world and help people understand what we are doing and how we are trying to do our small part to make the world a better place.
