The LGBT Chamber of Commerce Foundation awards scholarships to build leadership and promote diversity in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied community. Scholarships may be used for any postsecondary education, including nontraditional/alternative programs and vocational training.
- Applicants must provide proof they are a resident of Texas. Applicants are considered a "resident" if they:
- currently live in Texas and have done so for at least three months prior to the application deadline; or
- have lived in Texas for at least one year at any time within the five years prior to the application deadline; or
- have lived in Texas for more than one year at any time and have been continuously enrolled in an accredited academic institution for the five years prior to the application deadline.
- Applicants may study at any accredited school or certificate program. However, preference may be given to those studying in Texas and/or North Texas.
- Preference is given to students who self-identify as LGBTQ+, members of GLBTQ+ families, and allies who demonstrate significant activities in support of LGBTQ+ equality.
