Now in its 15th year, the Momentum Awards honors the top tech innovators and leaders that are disrupting their industries, building up their communities, & shaping the future.

Our 8 awards represent key areas of innovation across the entire maturity curve, from idea to Fortune 50!

Help us recognize the best in tech by nominating yourself, your company, or your peers across our award categories. Your support will help determine which innovators & leaders make our esteemed group of finalists!

Nominations will be accepted from Wednesday, June 1, 9am CST through Friday, June 24, 11:59pm CST.

Awards Categories:

Rising Star Award 

Presented to an early stage company that is positioned to grow into a leader in its market.

Momentum Award

Presented to a growing company ($3 - $25M in revenue) with the strongest potential to emerge as a leader in its market.

CityLIGHTS Award 

Presented to a growth stage company ($25M+ in revenue) that has become a serious competitor in the marketplace. 

Industry Disrupter Award 

Presented to a company that has developed an innovative product that has significantly disrupted the industry.

Outstanding Tech CEO Award 

Presented to a CEO who has successfully scaled & nurtured their company through outstanding leadership.

Social Impact Award 

Presented to a company that has fostered a commitment to DEI, community contributions, & social impact.

June 1 - June 24: Nominations period

August 8: All finalists publicly announced

August 8 - August 19: Public voting period

August 10: Rising Star & Momentum finalists pitch to the 1871 Board of Directors

September 22: Awards celebration

When casting your nomination, you’ll be asked to include a short company profile or personal biography of the nominee, the number of employees, a nomination paragraph referencing the reason why they meet the criteria, & a general synopsis of why the nominee should be an award winner.

Not ready to submit? Find full details about the awards and their criteria, along with templates to help you prepare your text before submitting below. NOTE: To qualify, all nominations must be submitted via this online form.

The information submitted as a part of the nomination will be kept strictly confidential, with the exception of the personal or company biography and why the nominee should win sections. That information will be used in the voting process, should the nominee become a finalist. Only the 1871 team and the judges will have access to nomination form.
