All categories will be judged on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being the best score for Writing Mechanics, Plot, Character(s), Theme, and Overall Impression. Judges will also be required to leave feedback on your work. Judge feedback will be shared at the end of the contest.

Note: contacting a judge, editor, or agent regarding the contest (before, during, and after) will result in the contestant being disqualified from current and future participation in any hosted contests by The League.

IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN BLIND JUDGING, your name or any other identifying information should NOT appear anywhere on your entry: not in the header, not in the body of the entry, not in the file name, no URL references, etc. Names are tracked through the Reviewr account info, to which the judges have no access.

Please follow these guidelines when formatting: https://www.shunn.net/format/classic/ with the exception that your name and contact info should NOT be included (you'll be judged blind and this form will collect your contact info). Please only include your title on the cover page and in the header.

AI Generated or Assisted Texts are not eligible.

We welcome entries showcasing diverse characters and creators. We are not looking for stories with subjects such as graphic rape and/or sexual assault, ableism, racism, sexism, homophobia, or transphobia.

If you are submitting, you are expected to judge at least 3 other entries. If you do not meet the judging deadlines, your submission will be rejected and you will not be offered a refund.

You may also elect to be a judge without submitting.

Submitted works may qualify for Olive Wolley Burt Awards 2024
