The nominating committee, chaired by former National Alumni Association President Terri Russell, is calling for nominations for the MSU Alumni Association Board of Directors.

The MSU Alumni Association has Board of Director openings in the following regions for terms of three years to begin on July 1, 2026 and end June 30, 2029: 

Out of State Board Openings

  • Out of State Region 2
  • Out of State Region 3 (1 Director opening w/ an incumbent)*
  • State of Florida Director
  • State of Tennessee Director

State of Mississippi Board Openings

MS North Region 1 (2 Director openings)

MS North Region 2 (2 Director openings w/ 1 incumbent)*

MS North Region 3 (2 Director openings w/ 1 incumbent)*

MS Central Region 1 (1 Director opening w/ an incumbent)*

MS Central Region 2 (2 Director openings w/ 1 incumbent)*

MS Central Region 3 (2 Director openings w/ 1 incumbent)*

MS South Region 1 (2 Director openings w 1 incumbents)*

MS South Region 3 (2 Director openings w/ 1 incumbent)*

*(position has a current incumbent director eligible for an additional term)

To be considered for one of the open Board of Director seats, applications must be submitted by January 19, 2026. The nominating committee will review all received materials and present a slate of directors at the annual business meeting held in conjunction with the Alumni Volunteers Leadership Conference on February 28, 2026.

Board Member Expectations:

  • Be an active Alumni Association Member annually
  • Attend two regular board meetings per year
  • Attend and participate in the annual volunteer leadership conference
  • Serve as a representative of the Association and University
  • Attend Association events and chapter events in their area
  • Provide support for volunteers and  help engage alumni in their respective region

Board of Director seats are based upon population as outlined in the MSU Alumni Association Bylaws and indicated on the following maps.
