Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can achieve. The Youth of the Year Program recognizes outstanding contributions to a member's family, school, community, and Boys & Girls Club.
The Program encourages Club members to reach their full potential by achieving academic excellence, leading a healthy lifestyle, and embracing the values of leadership and service.
The Youth of the Year honorees are shining examples and living proof that GREAT FUTURES start at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich. 

Eligibility Requirements – Candidates Must: 

  • Be a current member of the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich

  • Have been a Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich member for at least two years

  • Be a high school student in good standing

  • Have a valid state issued identification card

Application Requirments:

  • Write an essay on "My Boys & Girls Club experience and how it has helped shape my life." The essay should be no longer than 600 words, double spaced. All grammar and sentence structure will be considered.

  • Complete the cover letter

  • Submit current High School transcripts

 

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2026

The applicants will be interviewed by Boys & Girls Club Board Members, staff, and community leaders in late February 2026.

A winner will then be selected to represent the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich in the Connecticut State competition.
