Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can achieve. The Youth of the Year Program recognizes outstanding contributions to a member's family, school, community, and Boys & Girls Club.
The Program encourages Club members to reach their full potential by achieving academic excellence, leading a healthy lifestyle, and embracing the values of leadership and service.
The Youth of the Year honorees are shining examples and living proof that GREAT FUTURES start at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich.
Eligibility Requirements – Candidates Must:

Be a current member of the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich

Have been a Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich member for at least two years

Be a high school student in good standing

Have a valid state issued identification card
Application Requirments:

Write an essay on "My Boys & Girls Club experience and how it has helped shape my life." The essay should be no longer than 600 words, double spaced. All grammar and sentence structure will be considered.

Complete the cover letter

Submit current High School transcripts
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2026
The applicants will be interviewed by Boys & Girls Club Board Members, staff, and community leaders in late February 2026.
A winner will then be selected to represent the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich in the Connecticut State competition.
