Welcome

The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Foundation Scholarship Program helps graduating high school seniors pursue their college goals through renewable scholarships. We look for students who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, and a commitment to their future.

Available Scholarships

  • 1 award: $40,000
  • 1 award: $20,000
  • 18 awards: $12,000

Confidentiality

All applications, evaluations, and selection materials remain confidential. Due to the volume of applicants, we are unable to provide feedback regarding selection decisions.

Rules

Rules & Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior living in or attending school within our service area
  • Participate in an interview if selected
  • Attend the Scholarship Reception if awarded
  • Note: YMCA membership is not required

Key Dates

  • Application Due: January 24, 2027
  • Supporting Documents Due: January 27, 2027
  • Interview Invitations Sent: February 8, 2027
  • Interviews: February 20, 2027
  • Weather Makeup Date: March 6, 2027
  • Scholarship Reception: March 30, 2027

Required Documents

  • Official transcript
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • If selected for an interview, applicants must provide either:
  • A copy of the applicant's FAFSA Submission Summary, or  A copy of a parent or guardian's most recent federal tax return (typically Form 1040),

Maintaining Your Scholarship

Recipients must:

  • Enroll in at least 12 credit hours
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Submit required renewal materials each semester
