Description

Thank you for considering applying for an Educator Impact Grant through the San Francisco Education Fund! The Educator Impact Grant empowers teachers and school staff to design and lead innovative projects that make a meaningful difference in their school communities. Grants should aim to improve student attendance, strengthen student or teacher sense of belonging and/or boost academic outcomes—fostering vibrant, supportive learning environments for everyone to succeed. 

Educators can apply for up to $5,000 for an individual or one class project or up to $10,000 for a team or school wide project. To learn more about Educator Impact Grant guidelines and expectations, click here

 

What the Grant Can Fund

  • Grant funds may be used for projects that are creative, practical, and designed to make a meaningful impact on school communities. Examples may include:
  • Approved vendors for field trips, professional learning, performances, workshops, etc.
  • Materials, supplies, experiences, or programming needed to carry out the project.
  • Extended hours payments to teachers (paid and taxed in compliance with SFUSD policies for extended hours)

 

What Grant Funds CANNOT Fund

  • Salaries
  • General operating costs not tied to the approved proposal.
  • Personal expenses.
  • Gift cards of any kind
  • Activities that do not primarily serve students or the educator’s school community.

Rules

Educators will have full discretion over their project, including planning and the implementation of how they will use their funds between September 2026-June 2027. However, as part of the grant, the SF Ed Fund can support educators with the logistics and planning of their project. If you are selected as a grant recipient you will be required to attend an orientation, sign a grant agreement, submit a mid-year impact report, end of year impact and expense report AND attend the end of year showcase.  Applications must be submitted to your school principal FIRST for their approval and signature.
