21st Century Advantage Grant Program
The 21st Century Advantage Grant Program has long been the flagship of the SEF. Our faith in and support for the classroom teacher commits us to providing opportunities for them that not only enriches their students’ learning experiences but inspires them to think creatively. Retaining our great teachers by supporting their work is important to the SEF.
The 21st Century Advantage Grant program supports creative and innovative projects.
Outside-the-Box Grant
The Outside-the-Box Grant rewards creativity aimed at expanding students’ understanding of their community and the world.
The Allocations Committee meets in March, and grant awards are announced by April 15 for the next academic year.
Joan Barhydt Special Education Grant
Joan Barhydt Special Education Grants provide funds to benefit programs serving children receiving special education services. Mrs. Barhydt taught in USD 305 from 1977 until 2005, primarily working with children with learning disabilities. Her family members established this permanent endowment in Joan's memory. Requests for funds may not exceed $1,000 and must address a project or need that will benefit students receiving special education services.
Building principals, special education administrators, teachers & staff may apply by completing an application.
