Sasha Be Flooting Scholarship

This new scholarship has been funded by former Cougar Melissa Jefferson, better known as Lizzo. Over the past six years, Lizzo has catapulted to fame as an award-winning performer, singer, flautist, actor and producer – and now she is looking to give back to the community and university where she has been supported and where her professional mentorship and training began. She is an iconic figure in the music industry and is looking to award a scholarship to a deserving University of Houston student.

To this end, Lizzo has established the “Sasha Be Flooting” Scholarship, in honor of her flute Sasha. This is a four-year scholarship for $12,500 per year ($6,250 per semester) and will be given to an incoming freshman majoring in music at the Moores School of Music in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts to begin for the fall 2023 semester.

Eligibility

  • This scholarship is available to a fall 2023 incoming freshman to the University of Houston majoring in music at Moores School of Music in the Kathrine G McGovern College of the Arts.
  • There is a preference given to applicants that are African-American/Black and for applicants from the Greater Houston area.
  • In order for the recipient to retain the scholarship over the course of their studies at UH, they must keep in good academic standing and remain a music major.

Rudolph V. Gray Scholarship

The Rudolph V. Gray Endowed Scholarship is establish for the purpose of providing scholarships for members in good standing of Eta Lambda Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., University of Houston.   Selection criteria includes:

The recipient must be an active member and in good standing of the Eta Lambda Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., University of Houston.
The recipient of the scholarship must be enrolled in 12 credit hours (undergraduate) or 9 credit hours (graduate).
Scholarship recipients must make a concerted effort to complete all undergraduate studies for a bachelor’s degree within five (5) years.
Recipient must have a 3.0 GPA to be considered for selection

CAULEY, CEASAR, LEWIS ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

Founded by Jimmie Cauley, II (’04, MBA ’08), Brandon Ceasar (’04) and D’Marcus Lewis (’05); this annual scholarship is set to support active members and initiates of the Kappa Alpha Psi Chapter at the University of Houston (Eta Lambda) enrolled at the C.T Bauer College of Business.   Selection criteria includes:

The recipient must be an active member and initiate of the Kappa Alpha Psi Chapter at the University of Houston (Eta Lambda)
The recipient of the scholarship will be an undergraduate student enrolled at the C.T. Bauer College of Business.
Scholarship recipients must make a concerted effort o complete all undergraduate studies for a bachelor’s degree within five (5) years.
Recipient must have a 2.5 GPA to be considered for selection

JACK J. VALENTI SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION OPEN

The Jack J. Valenti School of Communication Alumni Association is pleased to announce the availability of two $2.000 scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The Scholarships
The scholarships will be paid in two installments of $1,000 each in the fall and spring semesters to assist with tuition, fees and textbook costs. The recipients must enroll full time each semester, and must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.50 at the close of the fall semester to receive the spring installment. These awards apply only to students attending the University of Houston Main Campus and not other universities in the UH System.

Eligibility Requirements
· U.S. citizen or permanent Texas resident
· Current School of Communication undergraduate student or Texas high school graduate approved for admission to the UH main campus in the 2023-2024 academic year without waiver, on an unconditional basis
· Full time enrollment (12 hours per semester) at the UH main campus
· 3.20 minimum cumulative high school GPA(for new undergrads)
· 3.50 minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA (for current undergrads)
· Declared Communication major

Selection Criteria
The scholarship selection committee will consider academic performance, financial need, extracurricular activities, and personal essays. The committee will also consider the applicant’s level of interest and experience in the communication field, although experience is not required for consideration. The committee will determine the relative weight given to each criterion. There are no restrictions to applicants based on gender, race, nationality, physical disability or sexual orientation.

Top candidates may be asked to participate in a brief telephone interview.

Recipients will be notified in late July, 2023

Application Requirements
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Include all of the following items in the application package:
· Completed application
· Official high school transcript(s) for incoming students only
· Official undergraduate transcript(s) for current students
· A minimum of two letters of recommendation. One must come from a teacher/professor, and the other(s) may come from a teacher/professor, advisor, community leader, employer or counselor.

LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

The University of Houston Alumni Association (UHAA) announces the availability of a $6,000 Legacy Scholarship for freshmen or transfer entering the University of Houston in the upcoming Fall semester. The Legacy Scholarship Program encourages the children and grandchildren of University of Houston alumni to continue the family legacy and attend the university.

The Scholarship
The award is a four-year scholarship for incoming freshmen in the amount of $750/semester ($1,500/year). The initial award will be made only to incoming freshmen and is renewable for each of the student’s sophomore, junior, and senior semesters (fall and spring) without application, but contingent upon the student remaining in good academic standing at the University of Houston, making satisfactory progress towards a UH undergraduate degree, and maintaining a full-time course load.

Additionally, the student must maintain the following minimum grade point averages per semester:
1st year: 2.5 or higher GPA
2nd-4th year: 3.0 or higher GPA

Eligibility
The applicant must be eligible for admission to the University of Houston as a freshman, and must enroll at the University of Houston in Fall 2023 immediately following high school graduation to receive this award.

At least one parent or grandparent of the applicant must be an alumni of UH at the time of the application deadline for the student to be eligible. 

The selection committee shall consider academic performance, leadership, community service, honors, and career goals in making their selection. The committee shall determine the relative weight given to each criterion. There are no restrictions to applicants based on sex, race, nationality, country of origin, physical disability, veteran status, or sexual orientation.

Recipients of the award shall not forfeit other scholarships, grants, or awards to which they are entitled.

GRADUATE COLLEGE OF SOCIAL WORK ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS - APPLICATION OPEN

The Graduate College of Social Work Alumni Association Awards and Recognition Committee is pleased to award two scholarships each fiscal year – The Charlotte Campbell Scholarship & The UH GCSW AA Scholarship, each in the amount of $3,000. The scholarships will be awarded during the spring 2023 Semester.  The recipients will be acknowledged at the UH GCSW Alumni Association Annual Meeting in August 2023.

Details for the scholarship are as follows:

Applicants can be part-time or full-time students, currently enrolled in the GCSW at the time of the scholarship disbursement, must have a GPA of at least 3.25, and have a minimum of 12 SCH.

Advanced Standing Applicants with fewer than 12 SCH can apply with a waiver by providing an Advanced Standing Verification, showing proof of credited number of hours received.

Additionally, each applicant should include an unofficial transcript that verifies your GPA and a CV Resume.

LGBTQ ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

This scholarship aims to encourage LGBTQ students to pursue studies at the University through this Scholarship Program.  
Eligibility
Incoming Freshmen: 
Applicant must be a graduating high school senior with a state core GPA of 3.0 or higher, and must meet all other admission requirements for the University of Houston.  The recipient must enroll in and complete a minimum course load of 12 semester credit hours (full time student), maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher during the Fall semester, and enroll in and complete a minimum course load of 12 semester credit hours (full time student) in the Spring semester.

Undergraduates: 
Applicant must be a full time undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Houston, must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The recipient must enroll in, and complete, a minimum course load of 12 semester credit hours (full time student) in the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters.

Graduate Students: 
Applicant must be a full time graduate student in good standing at the University of Houston central campus, must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The recipient must enroll in and complete a minimum course load of 9 semester credit hours (full time student) in the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters.

Scholarship Program Guidelines
The  scholarship is paid in two equal increments (Fall and Spring). Applicants must be willing to participate in an interview with the LGBTQ Alumni Association’s Scholarship Committee prior to receiving funds.

Selection Criteria:
The selection committee(s) shall consider scholarship, leadership, civic and community involvement, and financial needs, as well as the essay and interview in making the selection. The Scholarship Committee shall determine the relative weight given to all criteria.

Eligibility for Other Scholarships and Financial Aid:
Recipients of any of these scholarships may apply for (and accept) other scholarships, grants, or awards for which the recipients are eligible. However, if a recipient applies for financial aid, these awards may be used in calculating the eligibility level of the recipient’s financial aid.

The Marathon Oil Scholarship will be offered in the amount of $2,500 to an LGBTQ student that meets the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate Student

Majoring in any of the following:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Petroleum Engineering
  • IT
  • Accounting
  • Geology


Application Deadline:
The completed application must be submitted by March 24th. The application package must include: Scholarship Application and an upload of the student's transcript (UH or high school), and the essay. 
The Scholarship Committee will meet after the application deadline and rank the submitted applications according to all the stated criteria.

Forfeiture:
Failure of the recipient to register for classes (at least 12 semester credit hours for undergraduates and 9 semester credit hours for graduate students) by the UH late registration deadline, as well as failing to meet the G.P.A. standard will constitute an automatic forfeiture of the scholarship.

TECHNOLOGY ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

The Technology Alumni Association offers a $1,000 scholarship to a junior or senior who is enrolled in a minimum 12-hour course load and majoring in a degree from the University of Houston College of Technology. This scholarship is only open to U.S. Citizens.

THE SCHOLARSHIPS
The scholarship is a one-year award paid in two installments of $500 in both the fall and spring semesters. Recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher at the University of Houston to receive the second installment of this award.

ELIGIBILTY
The alumni selection committee shall consider scholarship, leadership, extracurricular activities, community involvement and financial need in making their selections. There are no restrictions to applicants based on sex, race, nationality or country of origin. Applicants must be US citizens. Recipients of the award shall not forfeit other scholarships, grants or awards to which they are entitled.

Winners will be notified by letter in May. If selected as a winner of the TAA Scholarship, the winner must attend the Technology Alumni Association annual meeting in August in order to receive the scholarship.

University of Houston Hispanic Alumni Association Scholarship - APPLICATION CLOSED

Vision
The University of Houston Hispanic Alumni Association (UHHAA) strives to become the hub of member’s University greater Hispanic community and to develop connections among alumni and students and to strengthen their commitment to UH while promoting the Hispanic community on campus and among the alumni community.  

Purpose
The Hispanic Alumni Association's purpose is to strengthen the relationship between the University of Houston, The University of Houston Alumni Association, and members of our association. This relationship is facilitated by our efforts to provide educational opportunities, financial assistance, and support of Hispanic students who attend the University of Houston. By doing so, the advancement and promotion of the welfare of the University of Houston and the Hispanic community are enhanced.

Mission
The mission of UHHAA is to provide opportunities for networking, community engagement, supporting the university’s academic and athletic programs, and supporting Hispanic students who attend the University of Houston by providing scholarships.

Goals/Scholarships
Our goals are to increase membership and raise funds that will support the UHHAA scholarship program and strengthen UHHAA’s network.  Scholarships are awarded annually, and students are recognized at the annual general membership banquet.

Membership
The Hispanic Alumni Association has an elected board and operates under the leadership and guidance of The University of Houston Alumni Association. All contributions to UHHAA are tax-deductible. Membership is open to University of Houston graduates and former students. Friends of the University of Houston are eligible for association membership with all rights and privileges except holding office.

Scholarship Information:

The University of Houston Hispanic Alumni Association Scholarship is a one-time award ranging in amount from $250 - $1500. It will be awarded to a selected, currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student and/or an incoming undergraduate or graduate student planning to attend the University of Houston main campus with the following conditions:

An applicant who will be a first-time student must be accepted for admission to the University of Houston.
If currently enrolled, the student must be in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate or graduate degree.  
The student must maintain a full-time course status (determined by the undergraduate or graduate program) and a 2.5 Grade Point Average or better while attending the University of Houston.
The application with all accompanying materials (transcript, essays, and resume) must be submitted no later than Friday, March 24, 2023.
Preference is given to students of Latino origin.
Preference is given to students with financial need.

The scholarship committee will consider the following when making their selection:

Academic Standing.
Civic Involvement.
Leadership Positions/Qualities.
Financial Need.

COUGARS ATHLETIC ALLIANCE SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

The UHCAA has as its mission, the uniting and reuniting of Cougars, promoting the legacy of athletes, bridging transitions for student athletes, and advancing the interests of the University of Houston. In an effort to support this mission, a scholarship program has been established to assist academically competitive students in financial need. Scholarships are awarded annually based upon predetermined criteria established by the UHCAA Scholarship Committee. 

The Cougars Athletic Alliance via The University of Houston Alumni Association is pleased to offer scholarships for current students that will continue to be enrolled for the 2023-2024 school year. At least three (3) scholarships will be awarded in amounts between $1,000 and $4,000 upon evidence of enrollment and predetermined criteria established by the UHCAA Scholarship Committee

The Scholarships
The scholarship is a one-year award paid in two installments, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester. Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester to receive the second installment of this award.

Eligibility

Applicants must be accepted and enrolled at the University of Houston, have U.S. citizenship and/or permanent resident status, and show proof of matriculation in at least nine (9) hours (Graduate Studies) or twelve (12) hours (Undergraduate).  

Criteria

The UHCAA Scholarship Committee will consider academic performance, extracurricular activities, and financial need in making their selections. In addition, the Committee places considerable emphasis on community service. Therefore, prospective applicants must demonstrate leadership and/or actively participate in a University of Houston organization or an organization outside of the University. Recipients will be required to participate in UHCAA events (e.g., Annual Food Drive, Monthly CAA Meetings, Holiday Toy Drive, etc.). Continued financial support will be contingent upon fulfilling the aforementioned requirement.

Application Requirements

The completed application, including the essay prompts, and official transcript showing GPA will be submitted by the student. Please attach two recommendation letters: one that addresses academic achievement and one that addresses community service involvement. Applications received after the due date may not be considered. The Committee reserves the right to withhold the scholarship if eligible candidates cannot be identified.

ASIAN ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

The Asian Alumni Association aims to encourage students of Asian origin to pursue studies at the University through this Scholarship Program.  Each scholarship is a one-time award in the amount of $1,000 ($500 each semester) or one $500 award paid in the Fall semester.

Eligibility
Incoming Freshmen:
Applicant must be a graduating high school senior of Asian origin with a state core GPA of 3.0 or higher, and must meet all other admission requirements for the University of Houston.  The recipient must enroll in and complete a minimum course load of 12 semester credit hours (full time student), maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher during the Fall semester, and enroll in and complete a minimum course load of 12 semester credit hours (full time student) in the Spring semester.

Undergraduates:
Applicant must be a full time undergraduate student of Asian origin in good standing at the University of Houston, must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for the last 24 semester credit hours taken at UH, and must have 24 or more semester credit hours remaining in the degree program at the time of the scholarship award.  The recipient must enroll in, and complete, a minimum course load of 12 semester credit hours (full time student) in the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters.

Graduate Students:
Applicant must be a full time graduate student of Asian origin in good standing at the University of Houston central campus, must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher over all courses taken at UH, and must have 18 or more semester credit hours remaining in the degree program at the time of the scholarship award. The recipient must enroll in and complete a minimum course load of 9 semester credit hours (full time student) in the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters.

Scholarship Program Guidelines
The $1,000 scholarship is paid in two equal increments (Fall and Spring) and $500 scholarship is paid in one payment (Fall) directly into the recipients’ student account upon verification of enrollment and minimum qualification requirements.

Selection Criteria:
The selection committee(s) shall consider scholarship, leadership, civic and community involvement, and financial needs, as well as content and style of presentation of the essay in making the selection. The Scholarship Committee shall determine the relative weight given to all criteria.

Eligibility for Other Scholarships and Financial Aid:
Recipients of any of these scholarships may apply for (and accept) other scholarships, grants, or awards for which the recipients are eligible. However, if a recipient applies for financial aid, these awards may be used in calculating the eligibility level of the recipient’s financial aid.

FORT BEND ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

The Fort Bend Club of The University of Houston Alumni Association is pleased to offer scholarships for graduating seniors of high schools in Fort Bend County who have been accepted for admission to the University of Houston - Central Campus for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Scholarships
The scholarship is a one-year award paid in two installments, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester. Recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher in the fall semester to receive the spring installment of this award.

Eligibility
Applicant must be a first time student eligible for admission to the University of Houston as a freshman without waiver, on an unconditional basis and must enroll at the University of Houston in the fall semester immediately following high school graduation to receive this scholarship award.

This award applies only to the University of Houston and not to the other universities in the UH System (ex. UH-Downtown, UH-Clear Lake, UH-Victoria, and UH-Sugar Land).

The Fort Bend Club selection committee shall consider academic performance, extracurricular activities, financial need and relationship with UH in making their selections. The committee shall determine the relative weight given to each criterion. There are no restrictions to applicants based on gender, race, nationality, country or origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or veteran status.

BLACK ALUMNI ASSOCIATION’S “PATHWAY TO EXCELLENCE” SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

The Scholarship
The Black Alumni Association’s “Pathway to Excellence” scholarships support the academic endeavors of outstanding African-American students who exhibit good academic standing, leadership qualities, financial need and who meet the criteria described below.

Scholarship Requirements
• Matriculated undergraduate students enrolled full-time (minimum 15 hours)
• Matriculated graduate students currently enrolled at least part-time (minimum 6 registered hours)
• Must have a cumulative minimum UH GPA of 2.8
• Must be registered as a student at the UH central campus

Recipients will receive a one-time scholarship totaling $250-500/semester.
They will not forfeit other scholarships, grants or awards.

The Marathon Oil Scholarship will be offered in the amount of $2,500 to a black student that meets the following criteria:

KELSEY BUZZANCO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

This scholarship is for a University of Houston (Main Campus) student who is a current member of a Greek Letter Fraternity or Sorority and is in good standing with both the University and the Fraternity/Sorority system. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

The Requirements:
- Full time UH (main campus) student
- Current member of the University of Houston Greek Letter Fraternity or Sorority system
- In good standing with the University of Houston and the University of Houston Greek Letter Fraternity or Sorority system
- Minimum GPA of 2.5

This scholarship is a one time award of $500.

BLACK LAW STUDENT ASSOCIATION ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

A scholarship of $1,500 will be given to an applicant who is a current African-American Law Student at the University of Houston (minimum of six hours required).

A scholarship of $1,500 will be given to an applicant who is a current African-American law student (a minimum of 6 hours required).

In order to be considered for the scholarship, please complete the following:

This scholarship is a one-year award paid in two installments, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester. Recipient must be an active member of TKE in good standing and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher in the fall semester to receive the second installment of this award.

ROBERT D. “BOB” PLANCK LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is a one-year award paid in two installments, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester. The recipient must demonstrate leadership qualities within the TKE chapter, the University of Houston and the community. He must also be an active member of TKE in good standing and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher in the fall semester to receive the second installment of this award.

THE J.W. “WILLIE” BURNS TKE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is a one-year award of $500. The recipient must be the Top TKE active member, in good standing and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

THE SHERRY AND TOMMY LOTT MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is a one-year award paid in two installments, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester. Recipient must be an active member of TKE in good standing, demonstrate financial need and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher in the fall semester to receive the second installment of this award.

Application Deadline
The completed application and an upload of your transcript, showing GPA, is due by Friday, March 24th. Please attach a recommendation letter from a TKE advisor or an individual familiar with your leadership experience (teacher, professor, clergy member, employer, non-TKE advisor, or personal friend).

COLLEGE OF NATURAL SCIENCES AND MATHEMATICS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Alumni Association (NSMAA) aim to encourage students to pursue studies in the sciences and mathematics at the University of Houston through this Scholarship Program.

The Eckhard Pfeiffer Alumni Scholarship is available to entering freshman, continuing undergraduate and graduate students. 
The Carolyn Farb Natural Sciences and Mathematics Alumni Association Scholarship is available to entering freshman, continuing undergraduate and graduate students.

The Scholarships
The scholarship is a one-year award paid in two installments, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester. Recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher in the fall semester to receive the second installment of this award.

Eligibility
Incoming Freshman

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior with an SAT (Math and Critical Reading) score (Optional) of at least 1200 (or ACT score of 16 or better) (Optional), and must meet all other admission requirements for the University of Houston College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

The recipient must enroll in, and complete, a minimum course load of 12 semester credit hours (full-time equivalent) as a major in any of the NSM disciplines.

The recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of 2023 and enroll in and complete a minimum course load of 12 semester credit hours in the Spring of 2024.

Recipients must provide extracurricular, employment and community service and include a timeline of the last years (spelling out any acronyms and include participation hours).

Continuing Undergraduates

An undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Houston.
in a major in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher in all courses taken at UH.
must have 24 or more semester credit hours remaining in the degree program at the time of the scholarship award.
The recipient must enroll in, and complete, a minimum course load of 12 semester credit hours (full-time equivalent) in the Fall of 2023 and the Spring of 2024.
Recipients must provide extracurricular, employment and community service and include a timeline of the last years (spelling out any acronyms and include participation hours).

Graduate Students

Must be a graduate student in good standing at the University of Houston.
Must be a major in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher in all science/ mathematics courses taken at UH, and must have 18 or more semester credit hours remaining in the degree program at the time of the scholarship award.
The recipient must enroll in, and complete, a minimum course load of 9 semester credit hours (full-time equivalent) in the Fall of 2023 and the Spring of 2024.

Selection Criteria
The scholarship committee shall consider academic performance, leadership, civic and community involvement, as well as content and style of presentation of the essay in making the selection. Scholarship forms the most important component of an application, and the committee(s) shall determine the relative weight given to other criteria.

Recipients must list any employment and/or extracurricular activites in the last two years (spell out any acronyms and include participation hours)

Recipients must list any publications, awards or honors reeived (Valedictorian, Salutatorian, etc.)

There are no restrictions to applicants based on gender, race, nationality, country or origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or veteran status.

This award applies only to the University of Houston - Central Campus and not to the other universities in the UH System (ex. UH-Downtown, UH-Clear Lake, UH-Victoria, and UH-Sugar Land).

ENGINEERING ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

The University of Houston Engineering Alumni is pleased to offer scholarships for students majoring in Engineering for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Scholarships
The Engineering Alumni Association will provide at a minimum of $8,000 total in scholarships for the Fall 2023 - Spring 2024 academic year.

The following scholarships are given annually by UH Engineering Alumni:
EAA Outstanding Engineering Student Scholarship
$2000 ($1,000 per semester)
- Standard criteria: engineering major, 30 hrs at UH, 12 hrs/semester of award
-Junior or Senior classification
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a minimum major GPA of 3.0
- Outstanding contributions in engineering-related activities (on/off campus)
- Outstanding leadership in UH student engineering societies

EAA Future Engineer Scholarship
$2000 ($1,000 per semester)
- Standard criteria: engineering major, 30 hrs at UH, 12 hrs/semester
- Any classification (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Post Baccalaureate)
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a minimum major GPA of 3.0
- Active involvement in UH student engineering societies
- Community involvement

Eligibility
The applicant must be declared as an engineering major at the University of Houston when applying and throughout the duration of the award. The scholarships are open to current Cullen College of Engineering students, and the specific criteria are shown above.

MR. AND MRS. RUSHION AND CICELY MCDONALD SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION CLOSED

The Mr. and Mrs. Rushion and Cicely McDonald Scholarship Endowment is established for the purpose of providing three (3) $2,500 annual scholarships for African American students enrolled at the University of Houston in the colleges of Natural Sciences and Mathematics or Optometry.

CRITERIA
The annual distributed income shall be spent for student scholarship(s) based on the following criteria:

The applicant of the scholarship must be an African American student enrolled at the University of Houston and pursuing a major in NSM or the College of or Optometry.

The scholarship applicant must be a full-time degree seeking student in good standing and must have completed at least one semester at the University of Houston prior to their application to this scholarship.

The scholarship applicant must have maintained a 3.0 or higher GPA within their declared major within NSM or the College of Optometry.

The scholarship applicant must be an individual who has maintained and demonstrated current roles of leadership at the University of Houston and/or have current participation in UH, local and national communities and organizations.

Scholarship recipients may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with this scholarship up to the cost of attendance, which includes tuition, fees, books, room and board, transportation and personal expenses.

In order to qualify for the spring disbursement of the Mr. and Mrs. Rushion and Cicely McDonald Scholarship, the recipient must continue to maintain the required GPA, leadership participation and full-time student status.

Scholarship award is non-renewable. Applicants must reapply annually.

Scholarship should be awarded to three (3) students annually in the amount of $2,500 each.

The Lonza Scholarship: - APPLICATION CLOSED

Lonza Houston is offering one (1) scholarship in the amount of $1,000 based on the following criteria list below. 

Criteria:

o   Enrolled full-time at the University of Houston.

o   Pursuing an undergraduate major in the College of Technology, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and/or Cullen College of Engineering.

o   Female student.

o   Have a GPA of 3.5 or greater at the time of application.

Must agree to complete a media release form from Lonza Houston and provide a testimonial to Lonza Houston on the impact on the recipient(s) education.
