The VSCPA Educational Foundation awards over $80,000 in scholarships each year to students pursuing accounting careers. Individual awards range from $2,500–$3,000 for the 2026–2027 academic year, including the Summer 2026 term, and are paid directly to recipients’ schools in June 2026 to cover tuition and fees. Applicants complete one application and are automatically considered for all scholarships they are eligible for.

General Eligibility (Required for All Applicants)

To be considered for any VSCPA scholarship, applicants must:

• Have completed at least 3 accounting credit hours by Dec. 31, 2025.
• Hold a minimum 2.7 GPA.
• Be enrolled (or planning to enroll for Fall 2026) at a Virginia college or university with intent to pursue a CPA license.
• Be a VSCPA student member (click here to join - it’s FREE).

Scholarship Categories and Additional Eligibility

VSCPA Scholarships

• Multiple $2,500 awards.
• Applicants must meet all general eligibility requirements.

Access & Opportunity Scholarships

• Multiple $2,500 awards.
• Applicants must meet all general eligibility requirements and at least one of the following: first-generation college student, veteran or military-affiliated student or demonstrated financial need.

Named Scholarships

• Multiple awards ranging from $2,500–$3,000.
• Applicants must meet all general eligibility requirements.
• Some scholarships have additional criteria, such as minimum GPA, specific schools, or class standing (e.g., junior or senior).

Scholarship Award & Selection Criteria

  • Application deadline: April 1, 2026.
  • Individual awards range from $2,500–$3,000 for the 2026–2027 academic year, including the Summer 2026 term, and are paid directly to recipients’ schools in June 2026 to cover tuition and fees.
  • Applicants will be notified of their award status no later than June 5, 2026.
  • All applications are evaluated by the VSCPA Educational Foundation Scholarship Committee using the following criteria:
  1. Short answer questions – 50%
  2. Resume – 25%
  3. Recommendation – 15%
  4. GPA – 10%
