The Alief ISD Education Foundation Grant Program supports innovative ideas that enhance teaching and learning across Alief Independent School District. Through these grants, the Foundation provides resources to educators who are developing creative programs, projects, and initiatives that enrich the classroom experience and help students reach their full potential.

Our goal is to empower educators with the tools and support they need to bring new ideas to life—ideas that inspire curiosity, promote academic growth, and create meaningful learning opportunities for students across the district.

Made possible through the generosity of community partners, businesses, and supporters, these grants invest directly in classrooms and help strengthen educational excellence throughout Alief ISD. We are proud to support educators who are shaping the future and making a lasting impact on the lives of our students.

Rules

Grant Application Guidelines

Applicants who received a Foundation grant during the previous grant cycle must submit their required grant evaluation report before becoming eligible to apply again.

Grant funding ranges from $500 to $1,000 per project.

Grant funds may not be used for field trips, salaries, subscriptions, teacher travel, food, entry fees, membership fees, or other non-approved expenses.

Multiple applications from the same campus may not be submitted to collectively fund a single program, project, or initiative.

All applications must be completed and submitted through the online grant application. Paper applications or supporting materials will not be accepted.

Grant awards are campus-specific and may not transfer to another campus. If the original applicant transfers campuses or leaves the district, another teacher may be designated to implement the approved project. Otherwise, the grant funds must be returned to the Foundation.

Tips for a Strong Application

Write clearly and avoid educational jargon, acronyms, or abbreviations. Applications may be reviewed by individuals who are not familiar with Alief ISD terminology.

Clearly explain the purpose of the project and how it will positively impact student learning, engagement, or outcomes.

Be specific about how grant funds will be used and how each requested item supports the overall project.

Collaborative or interdisciplinary projects are encouraged, as they can increase the number of students impacted and strengthen the overall proposal.

Projects that include matching funds, campus support, community partnerships, or other supplemental resources are viewed favorably because they demonstrate additional commitment to the project.

Professional development activities may be included only when they are part of a larger project that directly benefits students. Travel-related expenses, including lodging, mileage, airfare, or per diem, will not be funded.

Review your application carefully before submitting to ensure all required sections, budget information, and supporting documentation are complete.
