2022 BEST OF NAIOP Nomination Information

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Best of NAIOP Awards program.  This program serves to recognize the most successful companies, individuals, and projects in Arizona.  Please read the information below carefully.  Failure to comply with the instructions will result in an entry being judged adversely.  NAIOP Arizona reserves the right not to accept any application for any reason including conflict or perceived conflict with any of its membership body or other award categories.  Depending on the number of entries per category, they could be split into two subcategories of the year.

Please do not wait until the last minute to make a submission. This may cause the system to slow down and/or crash due to high traffic volume.

Winners will be acknowledged and/or presented their awards at the 2022 Best of NAIOP event on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Arizona Biltmore.

DEADLINE

  • The deadline for COMPLETE submissions is Tuesday, February 28, 2023, 5:00 p.m. 

      SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

      • Each question (excluding attachments that require a list of transactions) must be answered in 300 words or less.  Anything over word 300 will be redacted. 
        • COMPANY NOMINATIONS:
          • The company submitting the nomination must have an active NAIOP Arizona member.
        • INDIVIDUAL BROKER NOMINATIONS:
          • Due to the sensitivity of the information being provided, we ask you to please omit the names of the broker(s) being nominated as well as their company name/logo throughout the application.
          • All submissions must be NAIOP Arizona members.
        • PROJECT NOMINATIONS:
          • The company submitting the nomination must have been actively involved in the project and someone from the company submitting must be an active NAIOP Arizona member.

      PHOTOGRAPHS:

      • The photos are limited to the following:
        • Company Category – Two attachments
          • Label company logo, one page marketing piece and the category in which is being submitted.  Someone from the company must be a current NAIOP Arizona member.
        • Individual Category – One attachment per individual nomination
          • Label the person(s) who are being submitted and the category in which they are nominated.  The individual(s) must be (a) current NAIOP Arizona member(s).
        • Project Category – Four photographs
          • Label one of the exterior; one of the interior (or two of the interior if it best fits the award category), no compilation photos will be accepted.  Label one site plan, label one copy of the floor plan and the category in which is being submitted.  The company submitting the nomination must be actively involved in the project and someone from the company must be a current NAIOP Arizona member.

      JUDGING:

      • Judging will be based exclusively on performance during the period 1/1/22 and 12/31/22 which occurred in Arizona unless otherwise noted.
      • Judging will be done by a group of industry-related professionals from the Phoenix area. 
      • In the event there are insufficient entries to create competition in each category, categories may be consolidated for judging purposes.
      • In the event there are duplicate submissions for the same project category, the chairmen will decide which one is accepted. 
      • In the event there is only 1 entry in any given category that category may be eliminated in NAIOP’s sole discretion.

      FEES:

      • The nomination fees are as follows:
        • (1) nomination - $450
        • (2) nominations - $850
        • (3) nominations - $1,200
        • (4) nominations - $1,500
        • (5) nominations - $1,750
        • (6) nominations - $1,950
        • (7) nominations - $2,100
        • (8) nominations - $2,200
        • (9) nominations or more - $2,250 
      • Payment must be included with your submission and made only through an online payment portal to be deemed complete.  Do note that your card will be temporarily authorized, and you will only be charged if your submission has been approved (a 3.5% processing fee applies).
      • Any incomplete or denied applications will not be charged the nomination fee. 

        MEDIA COVERAGE: 

        • All submissions will be shared with The Phoenix Business Journal for inclusion in the supplement covering the nominees and award winners published by the Business Journal in conjunction with the Best of NAIOP award ceremony.

        ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

        • If you are a Corporate Sponsor, please confirm your seats with NAIOP staff via bestofnaiop@naiopaz.org.  Guest names must be submitted by Monday, April 17, 2023, to ensure that attendees receive a commemorative name badge.  Otherwise, they will receive a hand-written badge at check-in.
        • All submissions must be made electronically through this website.  Other methods of submission, i.e., via email, mail or hand delivery, will not be entertained.
        • Payment for nomination fees must be made for submission(s) to be deemed complete.  If this step is skipped, the submission(s) will not proceed to the judging stage.
          • If you have not paid your 2021 Best of NAIOP nomination fees, your 2022 Best of NAIOP application will not be processed until they are paid.  Please contact Lut Kusy at lut@naiopaz.org for payment of outstanding balances.
        • All individual broker submissions must be signed off by the Managing Director of the brokerage firm.  Submissions must be printed off, signed by the Managing Director at the end of the document, and uploaded on the online portal.
