Colorado School Counselor Association - 2026 School Counselor of the Year Nomination form - DATE: Due by April 30, 2026

Please use this form to nominate a School Counselor to help the professional recognition team to determine School Counselors of the Year, who will be recognized at the 2026 CSCA Annual Conference in Keystone, CO.
Please note if your nominee has been nominated for School Counselor of the Year in the past 2 years you will have to wait to re-nominate them. We ask that nominees are only nominated once every 2 years. If your nominee has won the School Counselor of the Year level award they are not eligible for re-nomination.
 
Something important to note regarding nominations - please consider including in the nomination data to reflect the work the school counselor is doing, as well as pictures and other uploads (videos, etc) to showcase the work of the school counselor. This can be included as a file upload on question #5. If you provide a link to a google folder, please ensure that anyone with the link can view the folder and contents.
 
This inclusion of data and artifacts make the nominations stronger and has allowed our SCOY reviewers the opportunity to visually see the work the counselors are doing that support the strong words of the nominator as well as their letters of recommendation.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Before you begin this nomination you will need to have all of the following information: Nominee name, email and phone number. Nominee Principal name, email and phone number. District Coordinator name, email and phone number, if applicable. Narrative of why the School Counselor is stellar. 3 letters of recommendation to be uploaded (1 from an administrator, and the other 2 can be from student, parent, staff, community).

VIII.E.4 Frequency of Nomination. In order to honor and represent the diverse and tremendous work happening across Colorado, school counselors can only receive the Colorado SCOY award one time. Finalists can be nominated again in 2 years.
