Welcome to the 2026 Democracy and Capitalism Teacher Fellowships Application! We are so excited to start this process with you all and cannot wait to begin our Teacher Fellowship experiences.
(Looking for the Google Form? Don't fret - this is just our new application platform! If you've already submitted an application for our Teacher Fellowships through Google, you will still be considered, and your information has been moved over accordingly).
This application should take approximately 1.5 hours to complete. It includes three short-answer questions (300 words or fewer), a 2-to 4-minute video, a resume, and up to two letters of recommendation (one is required).
Types of Fellowships
There are two different Teacher Fellowships you can apply for: the Residency Fellowship and the Summer Fellowship. Read the descriptions of both carefully, and please select the one(s) you’re interested in.
- The Residency Fellowship is an opportunity to help create an entire suite of high school-level classroom resources (lesson plans, primary sources, and case studies) for the new DemCap Classroom website throughout the duration of six months (May 2026-October 2026).
- This Fellowship includes a 12-Day Residency Experience from July 10th-22nd, which involves observing a week of the Democracy and Capitalism Teacher’s Institute Travel, lodging, and some meals throughout the Residency are included. Participants must attend this Residency Experience in this Fellowship.
- Otherwise, this fellowship is fully remote, with a workload of about 25 hours/week.
- The honorarium allotment for this fellowship is $10,000, paid throughout the six months of work.
- The Summer Fellowship is an opportunity to help create a few high school-level classroom resources (one lesson plan, two primary sources, and one case study) for the new DemCap Classroom Website throughout the duration of three months (May 2026-August 2026).
- This Fellowship is fully remote, with a workload of about 10 hours/week.
- The honorarium allotment for this fellowship is $2,000, paid throughout the three months of work.
This application closes on February 1st, 2026. Participants will be notified of their application status by April 1st, 2026.
