Description

Finlandia Foundation National launched the Lecturer of the Year (LOY) program in 2006. LOY have presented films, book talks, programs about history, architecture, folkways, music and more. LOY topics must relate to Finnish America or some aspect of Finnish culture in the U.S. 

The deadline to apply is 11:59 P.M. (PST) on October 1, 2026. Applicant must be a resident of the United States and live in the United States within the January 1 - December 31, 2027 term.

The term for LOY 2027 is January 1 through December 31, 2027.

Rules

All applicants must complete and sign application form confirming that during the term, the applicant commits to a minimum of 8 live appearances at chapter events during the term of January 1 - December 31, 2027.

  4. Signed letter(s) of nomination and/or support from a trustee(s) or chapter(s) of Finlandia Foundation National (FFN) or other Finnish-American/Nordic organization(s) or other professional recommendation.
  5. Audio-Visual or Digital Material to demonstrate applicant's puplic speaking
