The Impulse 2026
A NSG Bio Initiative, supported by Chiesi Farmceutici

The Impulse is a sponsorship and grant initiative by NSG Bio, supported by Chiesi Farmceutici, created to accelerate promising innovations addressing respiratory health and neonatal diseases.

The successful applicant will gain:

  • One year of dedicated laboratory bench and office desk access within NSG Bio's BSL-2 certified co-working laboratory
  • Access to NSG Bio's fully equipped biotech ecosystem, including shared scientific infrastructure, facilities, and community
  • Networking opportunities with Chiesi Farmceutici's and NSG Bio's extensive community of scientists, business professionals and mentors.

How to apply:
Complete the application form by answering the questionnaire on the ReviewR platform together with a non-confidential slide deck, by 21st October 2026, 11:59pm (SGT) / 21st October 2026, 9:59am (CST) / 21st October 2026, 4:59pm (CET)

Selection Process:
Applications will be reviewed by the review committee, and 1 winner will be chosen. The winner will be announced in the month of Nov/Dec 2026. More details will be shared via email, when you have completed your submission.

Areas of Interest:
We are inviting researchers, entrepreneurs, startups, and early-stage biotechnology companies developing patient-centred solutions across areas including:

  • Asthma
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Bronchiectasis
  • Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)
  • Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)
  • Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD)
  • Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome (NRDS)
  • Brain Hypoxia
  • And other related respiratory and neonatal conditions

Who should apply?

We welcome applications from:

  • Academic researchers
  • University spin-outs
  • Early-stage biotechnology companies
  • Entrepreneurs developing innovative technologies, therapeutics, diagnostics, or enabling platforms

If you are building an innovation with the potential to improve patient outcomes and advance the future of respiratory and neonatal care, we encourage you to apply.

Additional Guidelines:

  • The selected winner must be a Singapore-incorporated company, or incorporate a Singapore entity prior to accepting the award. The complimentary laboratory space must be occupied and actively used within 3 months of accepting the award at NSG Bio for research and development activities throughout the one-year sponsorship period. The award is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other benefits.
  • Applicants must be comfortable in working in a shared laboratory space environment and conduct their operations in accordance with the established policies and procedures of NSG Bio. 
  • The selected winner will be required to complete an ROFN (Right of First Negotiation) agreement with Chiesi Farmaceutici. 
  • The selected winner will be required to complete a member service agreement with NSG Bio.
