Your journey to becoming a CPA starts with a strong foundation, and the OSCPA Educational Foundation is here to help you build it. We proudly support exceptional accounting students across Oklahoma with scholarships that recognize academic excellence, leadership, and a passion for the profession. Each year, we award both general scholarships and special named scholarships honoring OSCPA members who made a lasting impact on the accounting community. These awards celebrate students who are excelling in the classroom and shaping the future of accounting.

General and Named Scholarships Include:

  • Beale Family Scholarship 
  • Henry Bickerstaff Scholarship, for students residing in or attending school in northwestern Oklahoma
  • Micah B. Steelman Memorial Scholarship, for students attending the University of Central Oklahoma
  • Retha Duggan Scholarship
  • Rick Kells Memorial Scholarship
  • Robin Byford Scholarship, for students attending Oklahoma State University
  • Rodney and Janice Gray Scholarship, for students attending East Central University
  • Ruthann Fairbairn Scholarship
  • Thomas Fund Memorial Scholarship

Community College Scholarship Includes: 

  • Randy Thurman Business Scholarship: Awarded to a student attending Oklahoma City Community College, studying and interested in a career in business, finance, or accounting.

Who Can Apply

Before you begin your application, make sure you meet the following requirements. The OSCPA Educational Foundation is proud to support Oklahoma’s future CPAs, and we want to ensure every applicant has the tools and preparation needed to succeed.

General and Named Scholarship Requirements: 

  • Be a current OSCPA Student Member. Membership is free — join at www.oscpa.com.
  • Be enrolled in a four- or five-year accounting program at an accredited Oklahoma college or university
  • Have completed at least six hours of principles of accounting coursework.
  • Be a declared accounting major pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree.
  • Submit two professional evaluations to be completed by your educators.
  • Provide unofficial or official student-issued academic transcripts.

Community College Scholarship Requirements: 

  • Be a current OSCPA Student Member. Membership is free — join at www.oscpa.com 
  • Be enrolled at an Oklahoma community college
  • Studying or interested in a career in accounting, finance, or business.
  • Submit two professional evaluations to be completed by your educators.
  • Provide unofficial or official student-issued academic transcripts.

Late and incomplete applications will not be considered. 

Applicants will be notified of the award decisions in June. Checks will be made payable directly to the university or college by August for the Fall semester.
