The RKAP Mini-Grant program is designed to help employers offset key costs associated with participating in RA programs, while still encouraging shared investment in workforce development.

Funding may be used to support employer participation in RA by helping cover expenses related to:

  • Related Technical Instruction (RTI) - Costs associated with tuition or enrollment fees
  • Mentorship incentives - Bonuses to award mentors for training, or the apprentice themselves
  • Tools or equipment apprentices need to succeed 

RKAP Mini-Grants will be offered on a semi-annual cycle. Applicants not selected during this grant cycle are invited to apply again during the next grant cycle. 

This process is straightforward and should take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. 

The application deadline is June 1, 2026.

Employer Eligibility: 

  • Must be sponsored by RKAP 
  • Must have employed at least one apprentice past their probation period  
  • Be in good standing with RKAP and the State Office of Registered Apprenticehsip
  • Located within the rural catchment area per the map below
