Description
K-State Wabash CannonBall Scholarship
The K-State Wabash CannonBall Scholarship supports high-achieving high school seniors from the greater Kansas City area who plan to attend Kansas State University.
For the 2027–2028 academic year, 70 scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded. Scholarship recipients will be announced in February 2027.
The scholarship is awarded in two installments. Half of the award will be provided at the beginning of the fall semester, and the remaining half will be awarded for the spring semester provided the recipient meets the scholarship requirements.

Rules
Eligibility & Application Requirements
To be eligible for the K-State Wabash CannonBall Scholarship, applicants must:
Be a
high school senior
residing in the greater Kansas City area, defined as:
Kansas:
Johnson, Miami or Wyandotte County +
Missouri:
Jackson, Cass, Clay or Platte County
Be
admitted to Kansas State University
and have completed the K-State general scholarship application by the required deadline.
Have a
minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
, on either a weighted or unweighted scale.
Complete all required sections of this application, including:
Biographical information
Essay
Extracurricular and community activities
Employment/work experience
Special recognitions and honors
Anonymous Review
Applications are reviewed anonymously.
Do not include your name, hometown or high school name anywhere in your application except where specifically requested in the biographical information section.
This allows applications to be evaluated without reviewers knowing where an applicant lives or attends high school.
Scholarship Requirements
Recipients must be enrolled in
at least 12 credit hours per semester
at Kansas State University to receive the scholarship.
The scholarship will be paid in two installments:
Fall:
One-half of the total award
Spring:
The remaining one-half, provided the recipient
maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA during the fall semester
Recipients may have the opportunity to apply for renewal of the scholarship for the remaining three academic years, subject to the renewal requirements in effect at that time.
