Youth LEAD Georgia is a statewide youth leadership program for high school students that is now accepting nominations for the 2025 cohort. Selected participants will have the opportunity for extensive leadership skills development while building a statewide network of peer and professional connections, exploring Georgia industries and businesses, and visiting various colleges, universities, and technical schools around the state. To nominate a student, simply complete and submit the form through this platform. Submitting a nomination will trigger an email to the nominated student and their parent/guardian with a link to the online application within 3 business days, as well as a prompt confirmation email to you, the nominator.

Nominations will be open through Saturday, September 1, 2024.

To be eligible for Youth LEAD Georgia 2025, a student must be in 10th or 11th grade in the 2024-2025 school year in the state of Georgia. Interested youth must be nominated by an adult and complete an application to be considered for the program.  A limited number of students will be chosen by a selection committee based on review of the applications.

If selected, Youth LEAD Georgia participants must commit to:

  • Attending all program sessions in 2025 (including the bus tour) as follows:
    • Jan. 25-27th | Athens

    • March 16-17th | Cartersville

    • June 3-6th | Statewide Bus Tour

    • Sept. 14-15th | Columbus

    • Nov. 9-10th | Atlanta

  • Fully participating in each experience.
  • Following UGA's and the Program's Code of Conduct and Behavior Guidelines.
  • Communicating with program leaders in a timely manner and completing any and all requested paperwork and feedback.

* Note: In the event a participant must miss a session due to health or other emergency, excused absences will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

For those chosen to participate, the program is being offered free-of-charge thanks to the generous support of the Chick-Fil-A.  Participants are responsible for transportation to and from each session.
