Welcome to the Launching Scholars scholarship portal!

Our flagship scholarship provides ten (10) girls with the opportunity to attend one of the best places to get hands-on experience in STEM fields, Space Camp, in Huntsville, AL. The annual flagship scholarship is open to girls in New Jersey, New York, the birthplace of LaunchTech, and Alabama, their current Headquarters, who are currently enrolled in school or with one of our partner organizations.

Our flagship scholarship Includes:

  • Full free admission to one of the following Space Camp programs in Huntsville, Alabama, from July 9, 2023 - July 14, 2023:
    • US Advanced Cyber Academy - U.S. Advanced Cyber Academy is the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s newest STEM program and allows trainees to delve into the world of cyber technologies through blended hands-on experiences and challenges developed in cooperation with the FBI. 
    • Aviation Challenge Mach III - Aviation Challenge® Mach III missions challenge trainees with freedom of control, requiring them to think about maneuvers in all three rotational axes of flight as they take on the most advanced flight simulations, engineering principles, and leadership responsibilities.
    • Advanced Space Academy - Advanced Space Academy® explores college and career preparation through an immersive experience in science, engineering, technology, and math.
  • Select Space Camp packing list supplies
  • Launching Scholars Gear 
  • Transporation (for those from New York & New Jersey) for the Launching Scholar

Eligibility Requirements:  

  • Scholarship open to girls who will be between the ages of 15-18 by July 8, 2023
  • Applicant must be available to attend camp July 9, 2023 - July 14, 2023, in Huntsville, AL
  • Applicant must be a US Citizen
  • Applicant must, at the latest, be entering their senior year of high school in August/September 2023
  • Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Applicant must be enrolled at a school in New Jersey, New York, or Alabama
  • Applicant's annual single-income household must not exceed $80,000
  • Applicant's annual multi-income household must not exceed $120,000

Application Submission Requirements:

  1. Completion of the online application form
  2. An official copy of your most recent transcript or report card
  3. A recommendation letter from a guidance counselor or teacher 
  4. Signed Parental Consent & Media Release forms  
  5. A 60-second to 3-minute video
  • The video should include the following information: 
    • Tell us about you: name, age, school or organization, and where you’re from   
    • What obstacles have you had to overcome to achieve your goals?  
    • Why should you be selected as a Launching Scholar?
    • Tell us about something you’ve created or learned that shows your interest in Aviation, Technology, or Space

Video Requirements & Tips: 

  • Video Length – Maximum 3 minutes in length 
  • Video File Type – Videos must be in MP4 file format 
  • Camera Orientation – Vertical Orientation NOTE: A smartphone is the best device for achieving a Vertical Orientation   
  • Bring your passion and creativity to create a winning video  
  • Create an environment where you will not be distracted   
  • Avoid a cluttered background or anything that can be distracting   
  • Put the camera at eye level  
  • Make sure you have good lighting  
  • Make sure your video is creative and focused on Technology, Aviation, or Space
