The National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators (NAOME) is a community of outstanding educators who have met rigorous standards of academic excellence within the last five years. Membership in NAOME is for a five-year term, renewable upon submission and acceptance of a portfolio showing continued productivity equivalent to the original criteria.

Each new applicant must submit a mini-portfolio, a condensed presentation of evidence showcasing the quality, quantity, and breadth of their educational contributions in a chosen category. Use the standard-setting examples available online as a model to organize your accomplishments, ensuring your evidence matches or exceeds these examples. Extract information from your CV, educational portfolio, or other relevant documentation

Renewing fellows must demonstrate continued engagement in their scholarship category and active participation in NAOME activities. Alternatively, they may submit a portfolio in a different category.

Application cycle opens August 12, 2024 and closes December 15, 2024.
Applications will be reviewed January - February
Notifications will be in March 2025

Rules

Applicants must create a Reviewr.com account or use their existing Reviewr.com account to submit (this is not linked to your AACOM account).

Before applying to NAOME, the following steps are recommended:

Review the NAOME website.
Determine which scholarship category best fits your experience.
Review the guidelines and tips for creating your mini-portfolio.
Request a NAOME mentor to help with your mini-portfolio (strongly encouraged).
Print the Reference Check Form and obtain a signature from your department chair, dean, or other appropriate official.
Update your CV.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be from an AACOM member COM or a proposed COM with pre-accredited or higher status.
