Any member may self-nominate or nominate/recommend a colleague. All individuals are required to complete a Candidate Request Form. This ensures that the Fellows Coordinating Council has as complete a record as possible of members' accomplishments, contributions, and service. To aid in an equitable and fair review process, names and other identifiable information are removed before being given to the Fellows Coordinating Council. This process is similarly employed for other nominating committee activities.
Those being considered for selection as a Fellow must demonstrate the following:
Sustained membership in AHLA for 15 years or more
Sustained practice in health law or in a health-related profession for 15 years or more
Professional acumen as one of the top health care professionals in their community
Consistently high level of service to AHLA, e.g., leadership, speaking, writing, mentoring, etc.
One year departure from AHLA leadership at the time of nomination
