4. JUDGING CRITERIA AND SELECTION OF WINNERS: All Submissions that meet the criteria above will be reviewed to ensure that they comply with these rules. Submissions which violate the rules will be disqualified from judging. All eligible Submissions will be initially reviewed by a third party to verify eligibility, then judged by members of the marketing department of Sponsor on the following criteria:
- 40% - Design Experience and Artistic Merit (your design education and whether your pattern evokes a feeling, how technically proficient it is, how effectively the design uses placement / composition / color / theme, how creative / unique / memorable the design is)
- 40% - How the Pattern Works on Footwear (how well the design works on a shoe, how clearly it features dogs / cats, how relatable the design is to dog / cat lovers, how well the design fits into the BOBS from Skechers product line)
- 20% - Story (is the design inspired by an animal with a personal, meaningful story, does the entrant have a passion for or first-hand knowledge of helping/rescuing animals or the BOBS from Skechers mission)
Submissions will be judged against other Submissions in the same category, and each category will be reviewed by assigned team members. After the initial judging, the ten (10) Submissions with the highest scores in each category will be judged again on the above criteria by a panel of Sponsor design and leadership members. The top one (1) score from each of the two (2) categories will each win a Grand Prize. In the event of a tie, the tied Submissions will be re-judged on the criteria of the overall popularity of the cat or dog featured in the design, with the cat or dog judged to be the cutest by the judges being selected as the winner.
Submissions submitted are only eligible for this Contest. By entering this Contest, all participants agree that all decisions made by the Sponsor regarding matters relating to the judging and selection of Contest winners are final.
5. ODDS: Odds of winning a prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION/PRIZE CLAIMING: The potential winners will be notified via e-mail and phone on October 9, 2025 and must respond by October 13, 2025. The Sponsor is not responsible for and shall not be liable for incorrect, changed, or illegible contact information or for electronic communications that are undeliverable as a result of any form of active or passive filtering, or insufficient space in entrant’s email or other account to receive messages. The Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, intercepted, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify a potential winner. As part of the winner notification process, the potential winner may be required to complete and submit a declaration or affidavit of eligibility/release of liability/prize acceptance agreement (the “Declaration”), as well as permission for a background check which winner must pass to Sponsor's satisfaction, within seven (7) days of date of notification, as a condition of receiving a prize. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable time period, if a potential winner is ineligible, if any notification is returned undeliverable, any Declaration fails or refuses to sign and return the Declaration within the required time period or if the Declaration is returned as rejected or faulty, or if a potential winner otherwise fails to fully comply with these Official Rules, that potential winner will forfeit that prize and an alternate winner may be selected from among all remaining eligible Submissions. A potential winner becomes a “winner” only after verification of eligibility by Sponsor.
No more than the stated prizes will be awarded. If, for any reason, more bona fide winners come forward seeking to claim prizes in excess of the prizes set forth in these Official Rules, the winners of the advertised prizes available may be selected in a random drawing from among all persons making purportedly valid claims for such prizes. Inclusion in such drawing shall be each entrant’s sole and exclusive remedy under such circumstances.
Additionally, Sponsor reserves the right to conduct background checks (including social media checks) on the Grand Prize winners, specifically including, but not limited to, verification of enrollment and good standing in a program at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college/university in the United States, as a condition to receipt of the Grand Prizes. Winners must first submit to such background check and cooperate with Sponsor in any way that Sponsor requests in order to be eligible to receive the prizes. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any winner based on such background check if Sponsor determines, in its sole discretion, the background check reveals information that is inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which Sponsor wishes to associate (which may be determined at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion).

In the event JAMS is unwilling or unable to set a hearing date within fourteen (14) days of the filing of a “Demand for Arbitration”, then either party can elect to have the arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) or any other mutually agreeable arbitration administration service. If an in-person hearing is required, then it will take place in the State of California. The federal or state law that applies to these Official Rules will also apply during the arbitration. Disputes will be arbitrated only on an individual basis and will not be consolidated with any other proceedings that involve any claims or controversy of another party, including any class actions; provided, however, if for any reason any court or arbitrator holds that this restriction is unconscionable or unenforceable, then the agreement to arbitrate doesn’t apply and the dispute must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in the State of California. Each Entrant also acknowledges that many ideas may be competitive with, similar or identical to the Submission and/or each other in theme, idea, format or other respects. Each Entrant acknowledges and agrees that such Entrant will not be entitled to any compensation as a result of Sponsor’s use of any such similar or identical material. Each Entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Sponsor does not now and shall not have in the future any duty or liability, direct or indirect, vicarious, contributory or otherwise, with respect to the infringement or protection of the copyright in and to the Submission. Finally, each Entrant acknowledges that, with respect to any claim by Entrant relating to or arising out of Sponsor’s actual or alleged exploitation or use of any Submission or other material submitted in connection with the Contest, the damage, if any, thereby caused to the applicable Entrant will not be irreparable or otherwise sufficient to entitle such Entrant to seek injunctive or other equitable relief or in any way enjoin the production, distribution, exhibition or other exploitation of the Submission or any material based on or allegedly based on the Submission, and the Entrant’s rights and remedies in any such event shall be strictly limited to the right to recover damages, if any, in an action at law.
17. MISCELLANEOUS: The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules or the Declaration will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision of the Official Rules or the Declaration is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision. Entrants agree to waive any rights to claim ambiguity of these Official Rules. Headings are solely for convenience of reference and will not be deemed to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of the documents or any provision hereof.
