We are so excited you are apply to be a part of the EMRA Health Policy Academy.  With leaders like you, EMRA will continue to thrive!

The EMRA Health Policy Academy is a highly selective year-long academy that will train you to be a policy advocate in Emergency Medicine. It’s designed to give passionate residents like you the opportunity to impact policy within Emergency Medicine at a local and national level and set you up for a lifetime of advocacy and national involvement.

Appointments begin January 1, 2027 and end on December 31, 2027.

NOTE on Membership Status:
You MUST be an active EMRA member to apply!

NOTE on Eligibility:
EMRA Leaders cannot hold an officer position if the individual holds any elected or appointed positions at other national organizations that primarily serve the same or similar constituencies (i.e. emergency medicine residents and students) as does EMRA. Leaders who hold an officer position in state or local organizations are exempt.

Rules

Requirments:

  • Open to Medical Students, Fellows, PGY1, PGY2, PGY3+
  • Monthly to bimonthly Zoom meetings, including a resolution review call prior to ACEP
  • Attendance at the following Spring events::
    • EMRA Representative Council Reference Committee pre-conference meeting and in-person public hearing
    • EMRA Representative Council Meeting
  • Attendance at LAC Washington, D.C.
  • Attendance at the following EMRA events at ACEP Scientific Assembly:
    • EMRA Representative Council Reference Committee pre-conference meeting and in-person public hearing
    • EMRA Representative Council Meeting
    • EMRA Board policy review meeting at ACEP
    • ACEP Council, 2 days
