We are so excited you are apply to be an EMRA Committee Leader.  With leaders like you, EMRA will continue to thrive!

Appointments begin January 1, 2027 and end on December 31, 2027.
Chair-Elects will have a two-year appointment from January 1, 2027 - December 31, 2028 (Chair-Elects will Graduate to Chairs of the Committees in the second year of their term).
Chair-Elects and Vice Chairs must be available to attend EMRA Events at ACEP's Scientific Assembly in October 2027 in Boston.

NOTE on Membership Status:
You MUST be an active EMRA member to apply!
If you are an inactive member, you must make an appeal to the board to hold a leadership position. See more on inactive membership in our bylaws here.

NOTE on Eligibility:
EMRA Leaders cannot hold an officer position if the individual holds any elected or appointed positions at other national organizations that primarily serve the same or similar constituencies (i.e. emergency medicine residents and students) as does EMRA. Leaders who hold an officer position in state or local organizations are exempt.

Two-year commitment with one year spent as Chair Elect with automatic succession to Chair. Travel stipend provided.One-year commitment, travel stipend provided. Unsponsored One-year commitment, no travel funding offered.

Travel to ACEP is required for Chairs and Vice Chairs. Funding will be provided for the Chair, Chair-Elect, and Vice Chair positions.
Travel to ACEP is not required for the Assistant Vice Chairs. There is no funding offered for the Assistant Vice Chair position

  • Letter of Support from your Program Director indicating assistance in arranging your schedule to attend our annual meeting:
  • Availability to attend EMRA events at ACEP's Scientific Assembly (October 2027 in Boston)

NOTE: For medical students, any Letter of Support from your Medical School Dean or Professors will be sufficient.
