The EMRA Leadership Academy is a 10 month virtual leadership/professional development program and virtual community for emerging leaders in emergency medicine. The EMRA Leadership Academy will start on the 3rd Wednesday of Janauary 2027 at 7p CT.

What is the EMRA Leadership Academy?

A one-year progressive self development experience that includes:

  • Ten monthly interactive online sessions, each focused on a different leadership skill. Faculty will include both physicians and non-medical thought leaders.
  • One in-person event hosted at EMRA events at ACEP's conference to promote team-building activities and develop communication skills.
  • Opportunity for growth, reflection, and personal improvement while interacting and meeting with national and international leaders and thinkers.
  • Access to the official EMRA Leadership Academy online community focusing on discussion about the different topics, idea sharing, project brainstorming, and national collaboration
  • Unique, in-person team building events at the ACEP conference.
  • Completion of a capstone project utilizing your newly-honed skills.

NOTE on Membership Status:
You MUST be an active EMRA member to apply!

NOTE on Eligibility:
EMRA Leaders cannot hold an officer position if the individual holds any elected or appointed positions at other national organizations that primarily serve the same or similar constituencies (i.e. emergency medicine residents and students) as does EMRA. Leaders who hold an officer position in state or local organizations are exempt.

Rules

Application Requirments:

  • Must be MSIV or above.
  • Provide a current CV
  • Provide a Program Director Letter (or Faculty Letter for Students)

Graduation Requirements:

  • Maintenance of EMRA membership throughout the year.
  • Attendance at 75% of Leadership Academy virtual and in-person sessions
  • Completion of Capston Project
  • Attend Graduation at EMRA events at ACEP's Scientific Assembly in October 2027 in Chicago.
